Some basic things you need to do (I can enlist 300 things)
but see it as Kaizen: continuous improvement. They will all add something to your ranking
1) esthetic improvements: make sure your customer does not run away when they arrive somewhere on your homepage
2) change title fonts (this increases the value of the keyword)
3) make sure your website is responsive: (so you can view it on any device: mobile, labtop, computer) this means you need to select a theme that is responsive from the start! any platform you use to make your website (drupal, wordpress, joomla, ...)
4) install an SEO module, with help of this add SEO titles and descriptions on all pages
5) finalize by sending the sitemap to Google, and Google search console, so it get's good indexed.
6) use small size pictures, so your page loads quicker
